History of the ZDMG

The oldest and most widely known publication of the DMG is its internationally cited journal (ZDMG). The first volume was published in 1847 as an organ of Oriental studies, which encompasses the entire German language area. The periodical publication of the journal was interrupted only by time-dependent events of German history. From the outset, German and foreign scholars used the journal to present their research results.
